http://www1.jinr.ru/Pepan_letters/panl_2022_5/44_Timo..
The collaboration of the Space Research Institute of RAS and the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in the field of nuclear planetology is 25 years old. JINR laboratories, FLNP and LRB take part in the work. During this time, a number of space instruments were developed using the methods of gamma and neutron spectroscopy, for which detailed ground-based calibrations were carried out at JINR on various radiation sources and planetary soil models. Most of this scientific equipment is already successfully operating on board orbital and landing spacecrafts, providing unique scientific data on the presence and distribution of water (ice) on the surface of the Moon and Mars and about the ground elemental composition.
